A Love Letter to Oregon

Dear Oregon...

I wish this day was something everybody could experience.

Oh, this perfect summer day. With your bright life giving rays... that bring the perfect amount of heat, but with a slight breeze... so as to cool you down... ever so slightly.

With your crisp, crisp air, and your sweet, sweet smell... I just can't seem to take in enough.

Turn the page of you book. Take a moment to absorb. Roll over to get a drink of your precious water. Aw, so good! One more sip. Amazingly refreshing!

*sigh*

You here a faint rustle of the trees. A neighbor has come over to their adjoining fence, like friendly neighbors do. "Hey neighbor, I'm havin' a big party tomorrow. You should totally come!" "Hell YA, I say!" "Cool, he nods, there's gonna be tons of games, and super cool people." "Right on. I'm totally there."

Rotate again, back over to face your happy sun; your good mood maker; your blissful time creator. Fluff the pillow once more; flick your hair out of the way. One more shimmy, and you're truly comfortable on this day. Another deep breath and your eyes slowly close. No worries, not this day, as if you made this one for me.

In the midst of quick cars, cheerful birds and other neighbors saying hello. The pitter padder of feet you begin to hear. Closer and ever closer it comes, until BAM! Your dog is licking the crap out of your face! AA you yell in protest, and then wacked by a tail in the eye.

Thank you, Oregon, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. If you ever find me wandering, or in another state begin to stray... Just bring me this once more... this perfect summer day.

Always Yours,

Ames
