The following was originally released late September, 2001.

Title: "Be Still, America . . .I Am God"

By Amy M. Bartlett,

Editor Guideposts Books and Inspirational Media Division

New York, New York

The tragic events of September 11, 2001, have shaken the soul of America. Even among those who have not lost loved ones in the terrorist attacks, there is a devastating sense of grief. In response, Christian Publications, Inc., will publish a book intended to soothe the collective soul of our country.

The author, Amy Bartlett, a professional Gospel singer and an editor for Guideposts Books and Inspirational Media, lives and works in Manhattan. On the day of the attack, Amy was evacuated from her office building and proceeded to walk home, observing along the way, "mild hysteria, smoke and ash, burning smells."

A veteran writer and editor, Amy has combined a collection of poignant and inspiring stories with the passion of our current times, which together show that, even in the midst of chaos, God is still in control. Along with her own experiences, she has gathered the stories of many others who suffered through the events of September 11 and the days that followed.  Each chapter of "Be Still, America . . ." will feature the victorious stories of survivors, rescuers, and even victims including the courageous passengers of Flight 93, who helped bring down the jet in Pennsylvania before it could endanger our nation's leaders in Washington, D.C.

"Be Still, America . . ." will provide inspiration and hope

in this time of national despair.
